Why I'm building another launch platform (yes, I know)
I counted the other day. There are 393 clones of Product Hunt currently live on the internet. Most launch a handful of products, get abandoned within six months, and quietly become one more dead link in someone's "1,000 places to submit your startup" spreadsheet. So naturally, I decided to build number 394. I'm Alex, I build things solo, and I've launched enough products (mine and other people's) to know the actual problem isn't finding somewhere to submit. It's that most of these places don't do anything for you once the submission is in. No real audience. No proper indexing. A page that vanishes the day after launch like it never happened. That's what I'm trying to fix with LaunchOn.it . Not by reinventing the launch, just by taking the boring parts seriously: a weekly board capped at 20 spots so you're not buried under fifty products dropped the same morning, and a top 3 podium that keeps a real backlink long after the week ends, ins...
